Message First, last night while driving and enjoying Eric Clapton's "Running on Faith" (from the original OEM CD Player and Bose system), we pushed the odometer to the 1/4 million mile reading (250,000 miles). So many enjoyable miles and hours together over the last 10 years; so far we have adventured in 17 States accumulating those miles (CO, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MN, MO, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SD, TX, VA, and WV).

Second, my 94TT was manufactured in February 1994, so this is the "birth month" for my car.

And 3rd, this Friday (Feb. 3rd) will be exactly 10 years since I bought the car at Nissan Dealership in Omaha. The car was driven by the owner of the Dealership for about a year (he put on about 7,400 miles), and then it sat in the show room until I came across it by chance in January 1996.

I was at the Dealership having my 1982 280ZX checked out because it was leaking oil from the tranny from some work that they did on it in December. I decided to check out the show room while they checked out my 280ZX. And there it was!!

Talk about love at first sight!! As an owner of a 1976Z and a 1982 280ZX, I had always wanted the Z32 from the first moment that I saw it hit the streets in 1989. And here was this all black, TT, 5 sp, leather interior, etc....WOW!!

I was asked to make an offer; the Salesman was absolutely sure that I could take that car home. I was not so sure. I did some calculations, called my bank, and offered $32.5K. My offer was well under the "Manager's Special" price on the windshield that was asking about $37K.

We did some dickering and they got me up to about $34.5K and I got them down to about 35.5K...but we could not come to an agreement and I walked away from the deal. I felt sad because I really felt that I would be buying that 94TT!!

About 1 1/2 weeks went by and I got a call from the Nissan Salesman, who said the car was mine if I wanted it, and at my asking price. He asked me what was my offer, I said $32.5K, and he said "Sold". I arranged to pick it up that next Saturday, February 3, 1996.

And we've had a wonderful time together ever since I drove off with it on that cold, sunny February day in Omaha.
